Big Ambitions 1.0: Every New System and How It Works
Updated 2026-09-08 · Last verified 2026-09-08 · Steam Big Ambitions
Big Ambitions reached 1.0 on 28 August 2026, and the additions were the Hamptons, private drivers, Speedy Bites delivery, an HQ Pricing Manager, three minigames, and reworked banking, taxes and energy. Every fan site already lists those names. This page sets out how each one actually works, straight from the official changelog.
Two things to fix before anything else. The full 1.0 changelog is not in the launch announcement, and several features widely filed under 1.0 are Early Access features that predate it by months.
The changelog nobody reads
The 28 August launch post is short and celebratory. Its one useful line is a link labelled "full changelog here", pointing to a post titled "Big Ambitions Full Release is TWO WEEKS AWAY", published 14 August 2026. The title reads like a countdown teaser, so it gets skipped. It is in fact the complete 1.0 changelog.
| Official post | Date | What it actually contains |
|---|---|---|
| Full Release is TWO WEEKS AWAY | 14 Aug 2026 | The complete 1.0 changelog. Highest-authority source on this page |
| Big Ambitions 1.0 FULL RELEASE | 28 Aug 2026 | Launch announcement, trailer, three highlight images, link to the above |
| 1.0 Build 3672/3674 Patch Notes | 1 Sep 2026 | First post-launch patch, concurrent player record, FPS issue acknowledged |
What is new in 1.0, and what only looks new
Big Ambitions spent about three years in Early Access, and the version a guide was written against matters more here than on most wikis. The community Fandom still says New York has five neighbourhoods, on a page last edited February 2025. It has seven in 1.0, confirmed by the official changelog wording "our seventh neighborhood", by PCGamesN on 30 August 2026 in near-identical wording, and by the longest-running price site already listing all seven. Treat any page claiming five as pre-0.9.
| Feature | Actually shipped in | Note |
|---|---|---|
| The Hamptons, seventh neighbourhood | 1.0 | Residential plus a small upmarket retail strip |
| Private driver, Onyx Luxury Chauffeurs | 1.0 | Contract based, not an employee you hire |
| Speedy Bites food delivery | 1.0 | Order in, or run deliveries yourself |
| Halcyon Fairway golf, A Racket of Love tennis, Brick Breaker | 1.0 | Two of the three are property-gated |
| HQ Pricing Manager | 1.0 | New employee role |
| Banking, tax, energy rework | 1.0 | Negative interest removed |
| Export affects the import index | 1.0 | New overproduction penalty |
| Industry City, sixth neighbourhood | EA 0.9 | Across the bridge, brought six warehouse sizes P1 to Q3 |
| Cinema and Theater | EA 0.10 | Official wording: the largest businesses in the game, with steep licensing fees |
| Broadway rework | EA 0.10 | Added C.A.S.T Recruitment Agency and Red Carpet Decor |
| Travel Agency, Event Planning Agency | EA 0.11 | Office businesses, staffed by Travel Agents and Event Planners |
| Steam Workshop mod support | EA 0.11 | See mods |
| Uncle Fred | Pre-1.0 | Story mode mentor. 1.0 gives him a Hamptons home and a dialogue fix, nothing more |
A fuller version-by-version breakdown is on Early Access versus 1.0.
The Hamptons
The Hamptons is mostly residential, with a fancy retail strip attached and a few new luxury stores. There are business spots on that strip, so it is not purely a trophy district. Full detail sits on the Hamptons page.
Three mechanics come straight from the changelog:
- Mansions are for sale, and the official framing is "do you have a few million dollars to spend". No official price band exists. A figure of $18.4 million for a T1 up to $85.5 million for a T11 circulates, but it traces to a single community wiki source, and the rival site that repeats it labels its own citation as a Fandom copy. That is one source appearing twice, not two sources.
- Some houses are already occupied. Uncle Fred lives there, so does his golf nemesis Richard, and so do your four special rivals, unless you have already driven them out of the city. The count of four is independently confirmed by the Steam achievement "Arch-nemesis - Gold: Defeat all 4 Special Rivals".
- A gated community with a private dock is the flashiest touch the official notes mention, not a confirmed top tier.
Buying here is also the unlock condition for two of the three minigames, which makes it a mechanical gate rather than an end-game cosmetic.
Private drivers, and the step everyone misses
The private driver is contracted at Onyx Luxury Chauffeurs. It is not a hire from a recruitment agency and it does not appear in staff alongside employees. The sequence in the official notes is specific:
- Own a vehicle. Any vehicle works, from the cheap Honza that Uncle Fred provides at the start to a luxury Anselmo.
- Optionally buy the Onyx-exclusive Limo, which is sold only through them.
- Set up a contract with Onyx Luxury Chauffeurs.
- Drop your vehicle off in their garage. This is the step that is missing from every other write-up. Without a car parked there, there is nothing to summon.
- Summon the driver to your position whenever you want a ride.
Full detail is on the private driver page. Achievement thresholds are 10, 25 and 100 rides for bronze, silver and gold.
The three minigames
| Minigame | Where | Requirement | Achievement thresholds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brick Breaker | Your home computer | None | No dedicated achievement |
| Halcyon Fairway | Golf driving range | Own a home in the Hamptons | 250 / 500 / 750 points in one game |
| A Racket of Love | Tennis court | Own a home in the Hamptons | Win 1 / 2 / 3 matches |
Brick Breaker exists as an alternative to skipping time, and the changelog presents it that way. Halcyon Fairway scores by landing balls inside targets. The Hamptons requirement is stated once for golf and repeated for tennis, so it is explicit in both cases rather than inferred.
HQ Pricing Manager
The Pricing Manager is a Headquarters role and the most consequential 1.0 addition for anyone running more than a handful of stores. Two things define it:
- It changes the prices of all items in an entire neighbourhood at once, which is a bulk operation across a district, not a per-store panel.
- Higher-skilled Pricing Managers suggest the best prices each day. Skill is measured on the 0 to 100 per cent scale used elsewhere, confirmed by the "Employee of the Month" achievement tiers at 50, 75 and 100 per cent.
Two independent sources back the role itself, the official 1.0 changelog and the community wiki's Headquarters page, which was updated in September 2026 and already lists it. Like the other HQ roles apart from cleaning, it needs a Computer Workstation. No salary figure exists for it in any source, and none is published anywhere, so treat any number you see as invented. More on the Pricing Manager.
Exporting now drags its own price down
This is the one economic rule 1.0 added that has a stated direction. Exporting goods now feeds into the import index: export too much of an item and you drop the import and export price of that item for the rest of that week. The official advice attached to it is not to overproduce.
That turns factory scheduling into a weekly cadence problem rather than a "run it flat out" problem. No percentages, thresholds or recovery curves have been published, so this page states the direction and stops there. Related mechanics are on logistics and products.
Banking, tax and energy
| System | 1.0 change | Number available |
|---|---|---|
| Negative interest | Removed entirely | None needed |
| Loans | Higher income requirement, higher interest rates, higher minimum daily payments | No rates published |
| Loans, upside | Larger maximum loan from Vantander Bank, partial payments now allowed | No cap published |
| Investments | Daily auto-investing, more detailed growth information, partial withdrawal without closing the account | None |
| Taxes | Rebalanced with more deductions to encourage yearly growth | None |
| Late taxes | Flat penalty, partial payment allowed | 10 per cent, the only official figure in this block |
| Tax visibility | Folded into the EconoView panel, shows amount owed and an estimate for next year | None |
| Energy | Burns faster when hunger and happiness are low | Official guidance only: eat a couple of times a day, keep happiness half full |
NoobFeed's 1.0 review independently describes the loan change as higher rates and minimum daily payments, matching the official wording, so that specific claim has two sources. Everything else in this table is single-source official.
Quality-of-life changes that alter how you play
Most of the 1.0 quality-of-life list is interface polish, but a handful change decisions:
- Inventory is distributed more evenly across devices. The official example is two empty cash registers and one box of paper bags: the first register takes only half of what is available.
- Store items now display their customer capacity and any placement requirement, such as needing to sit on a cabinet. Capacity was always the constraint on throughput. In 1.0 you can read it before buying.
- Storage Shelves can now be placed in warehouses and factories, not only in retail.
- Rivals are more aggressive in their attacks.
- Logistics Manager and Purchasing Agent delivery lists can be reordered, which is the only lever over delivery sequencing.
- Clicking the nightclub dance floor opens dancing options, which raises happiness, and happiness now feeds energy burn.
- 27 new achievements, and the Aging and Casino Winnings achievements were retuned to be more realistic.
On logistics capacity, note what is not here. Three community pages give three different delivery-destination limits, 4, 8 and 16, and two of them disagree on whether deliveries run at 02:00 or 08:00. This site publishes none of those numbers. The shape of the mechanism is safe: larger vehicle plus higher Logistics Manager skill means more destinations served.
The first post-1.0 patch, builds 3672 and 3674
Shipped 1 September 2026. Hovgaard Games opened it by reporting a new concurrent player record of over 12,000 across launch weekend, which lines up with a third-party peak of 12,220 against roughly 1,400 in the month before launch. Three sources agree on that figure.
The 3674 hotfix addressed a bug where employees trying to quit would break training, imports and deliveries. Beyond the fix list, the patch added subway destination search, an "Assign Uniforms" quick button on the uniform locker, off-map VoogleMaps destinations shown at the map edge, and low fuel or damage vehicle status in objectives and alerts. Banks now tell you how much you can borrow when you request too much, getting fired by Jose at El Gato Foods blocks rehire for 30 days, and the tax projection was showing the wrong rate and was corrected.
Two caveats stated by the developer in that same post: FPS drops and choppy gameplay were still under investigation, and "we have a few more achievement fixes coming in the next patch", so achievement text captured on 8 September 2026 may still shift.
How much of 1.0 has anyone actually seen
Global achievement unlock rates, pulled 8 September 2026, are the clearest evidence that the new content is unexplored. For scale, 75.9 per cent of players have run one retail business and 62.7 per cent have finished 30 of Uncle Fred's objectives.
| 1.0 content | Achievement | Global unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Private driver, 10 rides | They See Me Rollin' - Bronze | 1.4% |
| Private driver, 25 rides | They See Me Rollin' - Silver | 1.1% |
| Private driver, 100 rides | They See Me Rollin' - Gold | 0.7% |
| Golf, 250 points | Just Tap It In - Bronze | 0.1% |
| Tennis, 1 match won | A Game of Love - Bronze | 0.1% |
| Defeat 1 special rival | Arch-nemesis - Bronze | 0.1% |
| Defeat all 4 special rivals | Arch-nemesis - Gold | 0.1% |
Golf, tennis and the entire rival endgame sit at the floor of the reported scale, eleven days after launch. Full thresholds for all 126 achievements are on achievements. Anything you read about these systems is therefore almost certainly derived from the changelog rather than from play, including this page, which says so rather than implying otherwise.
Change log
- 8 September 2026: Page created from the official 1.0 changelog body, the 1 September patch notes and a full achievement pull. Corrected the common attribution of Theater, Travel Agency, Event Planning Agency, Industry City and Broadway to 1.0. Flagged the circulating Hamptons price band as single-source. No delivery-limit numbers published, pending a resolution of the three-way conflict.
Frequently asked questions
What did Big Ambitions 1.0 add?
The Hamptons as a seventh neighbourhood, private drivers contracted at Onyx Luxury Chauffeurs, Speedy Bites food delivery, an HQ Pricing Manager employee, three minigames, and reworked banking, taxes and energy. It also added 27 achievements and made exporting affect the import index. Theater, Travel Agency, Event Planning Agency, Industry City and Broadway are often listed as 1.0 features, but all of them shipped during Early Access.
Where is the full Big Ambitions 1.0 changelog?
It is the Steam post titled 'Big Ambitions Full Release is TWO WEEKS AWAY', published 14 August 2026. The 28 August launch announcement links to it as the 'full changelog here', but the title reads like a teaser, so most people scroll past it. That post, not the launch announcement, carries the detailed 1.0 notes.
How do you get a private driver in Big Ambitions 1.0?
You need a vehicle first. Any vehicle qualifies, from the cheap Honza that Uncle Fred provides to a luxury Anselmo, and Onyx Luxury Chauffeurs also sells an Onyx-exclusive Limo. Set up a contract with Onyx, drop the vehicle off in their garage, and you can then summon the driver to your position whenever you want a ride.
Why can I not play golf or tennis in Big Ambitions?
Both are gated behind owning a home in the Hamptons. The official changelog states the requirement for Halcyon Fairway, the golf driving range, and repeats it for the A Racket of Love tennis court. Brick Breaker is the only 1.0 minigame with no property requirement, because it runs on your home computer.
What does the Pricing Manager do?
It is a Headquarters employee added in 1.0 that updates the prices of every item across an entire neighbourhood in one action, rather than store by store. Higher-skilled Pricing Managers additionally suggest the best price each day. Like other HQ roles apart from cleaning, the position needs a Computer Workstation to sit at.
Was there a patch after the 1.0 launch?
Yes. Builds 3672 and 3674 landed on 1 September 2026 with a large wave of bug fixes plus subway destination search, an Assign Uniforms button, off-map VoogleMaps markers and low fuel or damage alerts. Hovgaard Games said in the same post that FPS drops were still being investigated and that further achievement fixes were coming.
